Year 3 and 4 Teacher - Maternity Leave cover

Job Title: Year 3 and 4 Class Teacher

Start date:  September 2026

Salary: MPS/UPS

Contract: full time -  temporary, maternity leave cover until July 2027 or until the return of the post holder.

 

Lower Wortley Primary School wishes to appoint a committed, caring and highly effective teacher to work in our Lower Key Stage 2 team. This post will involve working closely alongside the other teachers in the year group.  We are a friendly and welcoming school that works hard to ensure that children fulfil their potential and prepare for the next stage of learning and life.

 The successful candidate will:

 Be an exemplary classroom practitioner with high expectations of pupils’ behaviour and learning and a clear understanding of the National Curriculum

  • Actively contribute to the LKS2 team and play a full role in the whole life of the school including our extra-curricular provision
  • Be committed to ensuring that learning is effective for all children, including those with SEND
  • Have a clear understanding of how to use different forms of assessment to identify learning needs in order to support the progress of all children
  • Be hardworking, organised and able to meet deadlines
  • Form good relationships within the team and manage non-teaching staff effectively
  • Be able to demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils and their families
  • Show dedication to our curriculum drivers of citizenship, ambition and resilience.

This post will involve working closely alongside another Reception teacher sharing the same classroom space.  We are a friendly and welcoming school that works hard to ensure that children fulfil their potential and prepare for the next stage of learning and life.
