If your child is absent from school, please telephone the school on the first day of absence to enable an authorised absence to be recorded in the register. In line with safeguarding practice we will telephone parents on the first day of absence if we have not been informed of the absence.  

It is essential that we have an emergency phone number. This will enable us to contact you quickly if your child becomes ill at school.

If your child is absent from school due to sickness or diarrhoea, they must remain off school until they have been clear of the symptoms for 48 hours.

Please let us know of changes of address and telephone numbers at home or work as soon as possible.


Holidays in Term Time

In 2013 legislation announced by the Department for Education (DfE) stated that schools are no longer allowed to authorise any requests for children to be taken out of school for a holiday during term time.  Therefore holidays taken in term time are not authorised. 

If you wish to take your child out of school for a holiday you must inform us in writing by completing an absence notifcation form.  Parents should be aware that removing your child from school for a holiday in term time may result in a penalty notice from Leeds City Council.
