Netball Team Earn Well Deserved Medal

27 April 2016 (by admin)

Our netball team finished third in the West Leeds Finals ending an excellent season for the girls!

They travelled with confidence to the finals having swept everyone before them with ease in our cluster events. It was evident the standard was going to be a lot higher and some great defending saw the team earn a 0-0 draw with Holy Family in the first game. A 3-0 defeat to an extremely strong Southroyd team (the eventual winners) followed; however, rather than being despondent the girls rallied to a 4-1 win over Bramley Primary with Eleanor and Kara scoring. A dominant performance in the final game ended in an unfortunate 1-0 defeat to Bolton Royd. When the results were announced the team were extremely excited to learn they had finished third. This is a great achievement and the first time for four years that we have reached this level! The girls displayed great sportsmanship and camaraderie, even choosing their own positions for the final match. Each of them contributed so Abi, Ebonie, Eleanor, Ella, Faye, Kara, Rachel and Susan - well done! Also, well done to Mrs Power and her team of helpers for coaching the girls and helping them reach this standard. Thanks to all parents and family members and Mrs Mallon and Mrs Hutching for coming to support - it was appreciated.
