Athletic Stars Do Themselves Proud

12 February 2016 (by admin)

It was a heart breaking moment for our sports hall stars as they finished agonisingly close to a medal in the City athletics finals. Click to read more.

Cheered on by a huge crowd of family, friends and teachers the 22 children once again represented school superbly well. It became apparent early in the competition that St. Theresa's and Bracken Edge were out of sight (in the end they were separated by two points) and that we were competing with Chapel Allerton for a bronze medal. There were some successes on the track, with Faye, Rachel, Theo and Deakon winning their events, and after the track events were completed the scores were level. Unfortunately we finished slightly behind in some field events - some by as little as 2cm when all the scores had been totalled up! It was a wonderful achievement just to reach this level of competition and although everyone was obviously disappointed the children were once again a joy to watch, train and spend time with. Thanks to everyone who came to support the team in each event this year and once again congratulations to all the team - you are all incredible!!!
