Outstanding Athletes Destroy Competition

Lower Wortley qualified for the West Leeds final with a dominant display at The Farnley Academy

Continuing our rich history of success in this competition, the team, made of up 12 boys and 10 girls - only 8 of whom had been part of our success last year, delivered a near perfect performance. Out of 24 events, we won 19 and finished second in 5 giving us a points total of 230 out of a possible 240. Our nearest challengers, Ryecroft, only scored 138! The team were led to victory by seasoned sportshall athletics stars Faye, Rachel, Theo and Deakon, however it was the performances of many of the new additions to the squad, particularly the Year 4s, which was pleasing to see. We now travel to the finals in 2 weeks to meet arch rivals Springbank who just pipped us to the win last year! It's sure to be another close and exciting competition. Thanks to all parents, family members and former pupils for your support and thank you to Mrs Beevers, Mrs Giles and Mr Mejaat for their time and effort training and supporting the squad.
